Celebrating Moms

May
03

“All that I am or hope to be I owe to my angel mother. I remember my mothers prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.”      Abraham Lincoln

Dear Mothers,

Never underestimate the power of your influence over the lives of your children. Your example and your prayers have the potential to change the world of your child and to change the world period. No other ministry, no other job, no other pursuit is more important.

We invite you to join us in worship each week, but especially this coming Mother’s Day, May 13th. We will be praying for you and honoring you, particularly, on this Sunday.

Message Series - Finding God When....

May
03

From now through mid-June we will be asking how to find God in the different seasons of our lives: When we are afraid? When we need help? When we are depressed? When we have sinned? When we are angry? etc.

This will be a journey through the Psalms. These highly personal and inspired accounts of how God’s people struggled and succeeded in finding their way back to God will help and inspire us.

Wherever there is a cross there is always a resurrection.

Apr
03

The power of Easter is the truth that God has overcome all the power of evil and its consequences on our behalf. The execution of God’s Son was not the last word. The victory of Jesus Christ over death is shared by all who are connected to Him by faith. His victory is ours. Take heart! There is hope and it is sure. No matter what suffering or injustice may be perpetrated in this life, no matter how dark the night, no matter how long Friday may be – Sunday is coming! In God’s plan you have a future. The cross-bearers will be the crown-wearers.

Mountaintop Great Banquet of Toledo Scheduled

Apr
01

“…Come, for all is now ready.” Luke 14:17

What is the Great Banquet?

The Great Banquet is an orderly, structured weekend designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christians. Through a combined effort of laity and clergy, the Great Banquet focuses on the renewal of the church. The image of the Great Banquet comes from Luke 14:15-24. Jesus tells of a master who prepared a great banquet and invited many guests, saying "Come, for everything is now ready." Many had excuses and did not attend. Finally, many were brought who were poor, crippled, blind and lame. The result of the master's invitation was to feast and fellowship at a banquet given by God.

New Message Series: Our Identity in Christ

Mar
04

New five-week series begins on March 11, 2012.

One of the secrets to a satisfying and productive life is knowing our identity in Christ.

  1. We are image bearers.
  2. We are children.
  3. We are saints.
  4. We are priests.
  5. We are heirs.

These are the themes for our new series beginning on March 11.

When children are adopted at an older age, it often takes years, or a lifetime, for their previous thinking and behavior to come into alignment with their new status.

Self-protecting behaviors such as hoarding, stealing or lying are no longer necessary nor appropriate to their new position in life. Our new status in Christ calls us to a new way of living.

Join us as we discover the prescription for "orphan thinking" in which we, as believers, often engage.

New Moms Ministry

Jan
25

MRCC is undertaking a New Moms Ministry to encourage and enfold moms and babies in the care and love of God.  We seek to be a liaison between new moms and the Care and Support Ministry to see that many needs are met, including prayers, transportation, meals, babysitting, etc.  We would like to develop a team of volunteers to plan and execute this important mission.  We would also like to be advised of any expectant mothers or baby arrivals.  To join the ministry or to submit a name, please call the church office at 419-882-6703, or Ruth Mizerek (419-841-1320), or e-mail care@mrcc.cc.
